Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before booking a charter or using this website. Last updated September 16, 2026.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing this website or booking a charter with Legacy Fishing Costa Rica, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use this site or book a trip with us.

2. Booking & Deposits

A deposit, shown at the time of booking, is required to hold your charter date, vessel, and package. Submitting a booking request through this website is a request only; your trip is confirmed once our team verifies availability and the deposit is received.

The remaining balance is due before or on the day of your trip, payable by the methods our team provides when confirming your booking.

3. Cancellations & Rescheduling

We understand travel plans change. Cancellation and refund terms will be provided at the time of booking confirmation and may vary based on how far in advance you cancel and the season booked.

If Legacy Fishing Costa Rica needs to cancel or reschedule your trip for any reason on our end, including vessel maintenance, we will work with you to find another available date or provide a full refund of your deposit.

4. Weather & Safety Cancellations

Guest and crew safety always comes first. If weather or sea conditions are unsafe for fishing, our captains reserve the right to cancel, shorten, or reschedule a trip. Whenever possible, we will work with you to reschedule for another day during your stay. If rescheduling is not possible, a refund will be issued for the affected portion of your trip.

5. Fishing Licenses & Regulations

Legacy Fishing Costa Rica arranges the required Costa Rica fishing license as part of your charter package. Guests are responsible for complying with all local fishing regulations, catch limits, and instructions given by the captain and crew while aboard.

6. Conduct Aboard & Assumption of Risk

Charter fishing involves inherent risks associated with being on the water, including but not limited to weather, motion, and marine wildlife. By booking a charter, you acknowledge these risks and agree to follow all safety instructions given by the captain and crew.

The captain has final authority over the vessel and may end a trip early if a guest's conduct endangers the safety of the boat, crew, or other passengers, without entitlement to a refund for the remaining time.

7. Merchandise Orders

Orders placed through our Merchandise shop are processed by our team directly. Availability, sizing, and shipping details will be confirmed with you after your order request is submitted.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Legacy Fishing Costa Rica is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of this website or participation in a charter, beyond the value of the charter package purchased.

10. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Costa Rica, where our charters operate and depart from Marina Pez Vela in Quepos.
